Minnesota teams in the NSIC and NCAA D2 are now done for 2012, as Moorhead State and St. Cloud State each dropped a playoff game out in Colorado.
Metro State of Denver beat St. Cloud State 76-64. Theo Rothstein scored 15 for the Huskies.
Moorhead State lost to #1-seed Colorado School of Mines 80-60. D.J. Hamilton led the Dragons with 21 points.
Thus, this is the 1st time in 7 years that the NSIC does not have a team at the Elite Eight.
Meanwhile only Wayne State (Neb.) remains in the running for the women's title from the NSIC, but they of course are not a Minnesota team. They play Metro State tonight for a berth in the Final Four.
Player of the Day
