The Big Game 1-6-12: Bloomington Kennedy, Mountain Lake-Butterfield-Odin win

3 high school games matched rated teams Friday night, one metro, one rural; one boys, one girls; one big (schools) and one small.

Boys

#8A Mountain Lake-Butterfield-Odin edged #4A 50-48. Casey Schilling had wrist surgery earlier in the week and may be out for the season for Ellsworth.

Prairie Seeds Academy, a charter school located in Brooklyn Center, MN, set a state scoring recored by beating Math & Science Academy 165-37. Trent Pollard scored 37 points, Gage Deis 34, Mike Miller 29, Devin Buckley 24 and Dominick Jackson 20 for the winners.

Girls

#4AAAA Bloomington Kennedy beat #7AAAA Lakeville North 56-47 as Tonoia Wade scored 17 points. Kennedy led 31-17 at the half.

Buffalo (#10AAAA) won at #7AAAA Minnetonka 49-47 as Emily Spier scored 18 points for the winners.

Player of the Day


Katybeth Biewen scored 26 points and added 7 rebounds as the Edina girls defeated Duluth East 45-35.


Coach of the Day

Scot Sorenson, Buffalo girls, has his team at 10-3 and rated #10AAAA, and with road wins at top 10-rated Roseville and Minnetonka.
