BBE's 50 game winning streak came to an end and by the ridiculous margin of 31 points Thursday night at Melrose, 87-56. Both teams are rated #1 by Minnesota Basketball News, Melrose in class AA and BBE in class A, where they are the defending state champ. The game was also newsworthy because the 2 teams agreed to play with a 35 second clock.
According to Matt Pederson, it was back-and-forth in the 1st half, with Melrose leading by 7 at the half. In the 2nd half, Scottie Stone got hotter than hot, hitting 7 3s (for a total of 10 in the game) and a school record 44 points. The game went to running time in the last few minutes before an SRO crowd.
Player of the Day: Scottie Stone, ya think?
Coach of the Day: Ryan Dusha, Melrose boys
