What's Up with U.S. National Teams

It's an Olympic year so there will be lots of attention to the U.S. teams, men's and women's, in the London Olympics. And probably everybody knows that the MN Lynx have 3 women--Seimone Augustus, Maya Moore and Lindsay Whalen--on the Olympic team.

Did you know that Kevin Love is one of 22 finalists for the men's team.

And did you know that the Olympics will be around July 29-August 12.

Among the younger U.S. teams there are also some MN ballplayers involved.

Tyus Jones is one of 30 finalists for the 17U team that will play in the FIBA Worlds around the same time as the Olympics. Given his stellar performance with the U.S. team a year ago, he ought to be darn near a sure thing to make the team.

Among the girls, Nia Coffey of Hopkins and Rebekah Dahlman of Braham are among the finalists for the 17U and 18U teams, respectively.

  1. U.S National teams should be very busy this year preparing for the Olympics to be held in London. I hope I can see how they practice because my son is so eager to see the national team.
